Tobacco consultation

Quitting smoking sometimes requires outside help. The doctors of the tobacco consultation will support you in your efforts and offer personalized advice. They will assess your level of dependence and help you find the motivation to quit smoking.

They might prescribe pharmacological treatments for your particular situation. Nicotine replacement (patches, tablets, inhalers, etc.) or medicines like varenicline and bupropion reduce withdrawal symptoms and increase your chances of quitting successfully.

The first consultation lasts about 45 minutes, and the following ones 15 to 20 minutes. These consultations are reimbursed by basic health insurance.

The doctors of the consultation follow Swiss clinical practice recommendations regarding tobacco cessation from the national program "Life without tobacco". (https://www.freivontabak.ch/index.php/fr/?target=_blank)
